This isn't a list for emergencies — it's a starting point for the next few weeks. Most of these don't require an appointment to start. Pick one, make a call, and take it from there. You don't have to do all of it at once.

Talk to someone at our church

You don't need to be a member, or have ever been here before, to reach out.

[Your Church Name]

[A sentence or two about your church's posture — e.g. "We're a small congregation that's been part of this community for a long time. We can't fix everything, but we can listen, help you make a plan, and walk through it with you."]

  • A listening ear — call or stop by during office hours
  • Help making phone calls to the resources on this page
  • Occasional rides to appointments (ask a couple of days ahead if you can)
  • A small assistance fund for one-time needs — by conversation with the pastor
  • Prayer, if and when that's welcome
  • A follow-up call to check in the next week

Services: [Sunday at 10:00 AM] · [Church Address, Lebanon, PA]

Are you here to help someone else? A few thoughts.

If someone has shared something hard with you, thank you for caring enough to look this up. A few things that tend to help:

  • Listen first. You don't need to fix it — you need to hear it. Most people aren't asking for a solution on the spot.
  • Offer to sit with them while they make a call. Phone trees and intake forms are exhausting and intimidating alone. Just being there helps.
  • A ride can matter more than money. Getting to an appointment is often the hardest part.
  • Bring a meal. It says "you're not invisible" without needing words.
  • Follow up in a week. "I've been thinking about you, how did the call go?" means more than people expect.
  • Don't promise money yourself. If financial need comes up, gently connect them with the pastor about the church's assistance fund — that keeps things fair and sustainable.
  • Offer prayer, but let them lead. Not everyone wants it in the moment, and that's okay.
  • Keep it private. What's shared with you isn't for the prayer chain or casual conversation unless they say it's okay to share.
