Next Step — You're almost there

You saved your guide. Now let's put it online.

This page walks you through every step, one at a time. It takes about five minutes and costs nothing.

You'll be using a free service called Netlify. It's one of the most trusted ways to put a webpage online — used by millions of people — and the free plan is all you'll ever need for this.

📁 Before you start: make sure you know where the file you just downloaded is sitting on your computer. It's probably in your Downloads folder and ends in .html — something like grace-community-church.html.
1

Create your free Netlify account

Go to this address in your web browser:

app.netlify.com/signup
What you'll see: A page that says "Sign up" with options to sign up using email, GitHub, or Google. The easiest option is Sign up with Email — just enter your email address and create a password.

Check your email after signing up — Netlify will send you a confirmation link to click before you can continue.

2

Go to the Netlify Drop page

Once you're signed in, go to this address:

app.netlify.com/drop
What you'll see: A large box in the middle of the page that says something like "Drag and drop your site output folder here" or "Want to deploy a new site without connecting to Git?" — that's exactly where you're headed.
3

Drag your file onto the page

On a Windows computer: Open File Explorer and find your Downloads folder. Click on your .html file and — while holding the mouse button down — drag it over to the Netlify browser window and drop it into the big box.
On a Mac: Open Finder and find your Downloads folder. Click on your .html file and drag it over to the Netlify browser window and drop it into the big box.
What happens next: Netlify will show a progress bar for a few seconds, then say "Your site is live!" with a web address — something like cheerful-sunshine-abc123.netlify.app. That address is your live page, right now, on the internet.

Click that address to make sure your page looks right.

Optional but recommended

Give your page a name people will recognize

Right now your address is something like cheerful-sunshine-abc123.netlify.app — a random name Netlify made up. You can change it to something meaningful like grace-church-resources.netlify.app for free.

How to rename it: In Netlify, click on your site name to open its dashboard. Look for Site configuration or Site settings, then find Site details and click Change site name. Type the name you want — it just needs to be unique. Save, and your URL updates immediately.

Good names to try: yourtown-nextstep, yourchurchname-resources, or yourchurchname-help.

5

Share your link

Copy your final web address from the browser bar and share it anywhere you'd normally share information with your community.

The address will look like: yourchurchname-resources.netlify.app
That's the link you share — no "http://" needed when you type it, though browsers add it automatically.

🎉 You're done.

Your community now has a page they can find, bookmark, and share — real local resources, your church's contact info, and a clear path forward for people in a hard spot.

📋 What if something changes later?

Phone numbers change. Programs come and go. Here's how to update your page when that happens:

  1. Go back to the builder page and fill in your information again (we know — we're working on making this easier)
  2. Click Build My Guide, then Save this guide as a file
  3. Log back in to Netlify at app.netlify.com
  4. Find your site, go to Deploys, and drag your new file onto the deploy drop zone
  5. Your site updates automatically — same URL, fresh content

Tip: do a quick check of your phone numbers once or twice a year — a 10-minute review keeps everything trustworthy.
